CAPITAL SHIPS REWORKED

The following stats are the direct result of looking through the Incredible Cross-Sections. I noticed that the newer capital ships had far fewer weapons than ships of comparable size from the Original Trilogy. I then looked in the Cross-Sections for the OT and noticed that the entry for the Star Destroyer (based on the models made for the movies) also had few weapons than what had bee previously listed. I believe that when they were statting out the capital ships from the OT, West End Games (WEG) based the number of weapons on the Napoleonic Man o'War warships which had banks of cannons, whereas, I think, the original intent of ships like the Star Destroyer was to be closer to World War II-era battleships which had few heavy guns with many lesser machineguns. Therefore, the ships that follow are based on what can be found in the Cross-Sections or careful reasoning of their intended purpose and abilities.
All weapons listed as "partial turrets" can fire in their listed Fire Arc as well as the Arcs at 90 degrees to that primary arc, but not in the arc behind it (ie. a partial turret facing right can also fire to the front and the aft, but not the left). Also, each turret contains two cannons but is counted as a single unit, as per Star Wars reference material. Ships such as the Imperial II that are upgrades of previous ships have the same number of emplacements but each emplacement supports a double turret (one turret on top of another) to account for the number of guns at certain points on the models. This applies to the Strike Cruiser and Home One Command Cruiser, as well.

ACCLAMATOR II-CLASS ASSAULT SHIP
Acclamator II-class Assualt Ship     An upgrade on the Republic's Acclamator assault transport, the Acclamator II was designed as a fleet carrier and not a troop transport. As such, the massive cargo hold and extending gangplanks have been replaced with a hangar bay.
The Acclamator II first saw combat only a few months after the Battle of Geonosis at the Battle of Muunilist where it carried squadrons of V-19 Torrent starfighters to support General Kenobi's forces.

ARC HAMMER
Arc Hammer Mobile Manufacturing and Launch Platform     The Arc Hammer was built by Kuat Drive Yards at the height of the Empire's power as the production and launch facility for the experimental Dark Troopers. As such, it was given to that project's commanding officer, General Rom Mohc, as his research and construction facility to design and build these super-stormtroopers.
Relying more on stealth and random hyperspace jumps, the Arc Hammer was lightly armed for a ship of its size. (From rpggamer.org Starships)

DOOMGIVER-CLASS ASSAULT CRUISER
Doomgiver-class Assault Cruiser     Designed by Admiral Galak Fyyar for the Imperial Remnant, the Doomgiver-class Assault Cruiser was intended for planetary assault, and performed this role admirably although with detriment to all other tasks. It performed poorly in space combat, although had powerful shields to protect it from attack; shields being a speciality of Galak Fyyar, who had designed them for both Death Stars. However, the fact that it could launch its 76 assault pods, containing a total of 2280 armoured troopers and 304 AT-ST's meant that it could easily assault most targets overwhelming entire planetary defense forces by itself, an impressive task for a vessel far smaller than an Imperial Star Destroyer. The only known example of a Doomgiver Assault Cruiser was destroyed by Rogue Squadron in orbit around Yavin IV as it began launching an assault on the Jedi Academy there. *The Doomgiver's Assault Pods are heavily armored troop and vehicle transports that are launched down to a planet’s surface. They are capable of carrying 30 armored troopers on their upper deck, and four All Terrain Scout Transports in their lower deck, although some are configured for delivering supplies or speeder bikes, most are in the standard configuration for assault with standard transport shuttles handling the resupply and logistical support of an Imperial invasion. The pods are have 180 Hull Points (DR 10), although they carry no weapons or shields, and have only enough repulsorlift drive to allow them to survive their one way trip down to a planet’s surface with almost no control once they are released from the Doomgiver itself.

DREADNAUGHT-CLASS HEAVY CRUISER
Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser     Developed before the outbreak of the Clone Wars, Dreadnaught heavy cruisers are among the oldest vessels in active service in the Imperial Navy. Though outdated, the Dreadnaughts continued to see use due to simple economics: they were readily available and effective cruisers, if not the most efficient and advanced models.
The Dreadnaught is plagued by a number of design flaws that prevented it from becoming a preeminent ship of the line. Inefficient power generators resulted in slow sublight and hyperdrive performance, weak shielding, reduced firepower and frequent surges within the computer systems.
Perhaps the Dreadnaught's biggest drawback is how crew-intensive the ships are. Standard operating procedure recommends an optimum crew that numbers over 16,000 personnel. The consumable supplies required to maintain that crew took up enormous cargo space. A modification of the ship's hyperdrive that increased its performance to class two allowed for more frequent victualing stops, and some of that cargo space was converted for hangar use. In the Empire, a standard Dreadnaught carried a squadron of TIE fighters. The Imperials employed Dreadnaughts to maintain a presence in the Outer Rim Territories, as convoy escort vessels and ensuring dominance over primitive worlds. (From the starwars.com Databank)

EXECUTOR-CLASS SUPER STAR DESTROYER
Executor-class Super Star Destroyer     The Super Star Destroyer is one of the largest, most powerful Imperial vessels ever created. It follows the same basic dagger-shaped design of the Imperial-class Star Destroyers, but magnified to much larger scale. A smooth hull presents an arrowhead shaped profiled when viewed from above. Resting in the center of this hull is an "island" of habitable volume. Weapons emplacements bristle on the layered city-like surface. The trapezoidal command tower stands near the aft end of this island, capped with two geodesic communication and deflection domes. The underside is a busy network of engineering and superstructure. Thirteen colossal engine thrusters glow blood red as they push the immense craft through space. (From the starwars.com Databank)

HOME ONE COMMAND CRUISER
Home One Command Cruiser     Home One was Admiral Ackbar's flagship of the Rebel Alliance during the Battle of Endor. It is approximately 3800 meters long, well over twice the length of an Imperial-class Star Destroyer. It carries 120 starfighters in 10 full squadrons. Her shields are powerful and redundant enough to withstand close combat with a Executor-class Super Star Destroyer; however, her firepower is somewhat lacking. The hanger layout is also non-optimal with large openings on her port and starboard surfaces.

IMMOBILIZER 418 INTERDICTOR CRUISER
Immobilizer 418 Interdictor Cruiser     Interdictor cruisers are equipped with four gravity-well generators that simulate large planet-sized masses, the purpose of which is to draw craft out of hyperspace or prevent ships from engaging hyperdrive and fleeing a battle. This secret technology is particularly useful for trapping and catching pirates and smugglers, and for holding a smaller enemy fleet in space so it cannot avoid destruction at the hands of an Imperial fleet. The gravity well generators are housed in four bubble-shaped protrusions, a pair located on the upper hull of the Interdictor and the second pair located on the bottom hull. Creating Interdictors is financially tedious, so Interdictors will not be found accompanying every Imperial fleet. Typically an Interdictor will be employed patrolling known smuggling routes to catch smugglers and maintain peace and order in a sector. With six turbo quadlaser cannons and two squadrons of TIE Fighters, the Interdictor, which is slightly smaller than an Imperial Star Destroyer, is capable of defending itself from enemy fighters and small cruisers. IMPERIAL-CLASS STAR DESTROYER
Imperial-class Star Destroyer     The triangular silhouette of an Imperial cruiser has come a long way since its Republic-inspired design. While vessels of the Jedi order were met with feelings of pride and relief as they came soaring to solve galactic strife, the Imperial Star Destroyer's gargantuan size cleary inspires both awe and terror.
The wedge-shaped capital ship is bristling with weapons emplacements. Turbolasers and tractor beam projectors dot its surface. Its ventral bay can launch TIE fighters, boarding craft, land assault units, hyperspace probes, or be used to hold captured craft. Its bustling bridge is staffed by the finest crewers in the Imperial starfleet.

IMPERIAL II-CLASS STAR DESTROYER
Imperial II-class Star Destroyer     The Imperial II-class Star Destroyer is a newer version of the original ISD. It has a faster hyperdrive, upgraded shields, and improved weapons. An example of the Mark II ISD would be the Avenger, as opposed to the original ISD, an example of which is the Devastator. They can easily be distinguished via the appearance of the engines: original ISDs have small triple baffles surrounding the main engines, whereas Mark II ISDs have ring baffles. MODIFIED LUCREHULK-CLASS LH-3210 FREIGHTER
Modified Lucrehulk-class LH-3210 Freighter     Not originally designed as warships, the Trade Federation battleship started life as cargo freighters for their vast commercial fleet. When the Neimoidians began secretly building their armed forces, one of their first acts was to convert their freighters into combat warships.
The conversion wasn't entirely effective -- while the vessels themselves are powerful, they do have a number of weaknesses. The addition of retractable turbolasers along the equator of the ship's hull left large blind spots that speedy vessels could exploit, as the Naboo Royal Starship did during its escape.
These battleships have cavernous hangar bays -- a holdover from their freighter configurations -- that can carry an entire invasion army. One battleship can carry 550 MTTs, 6,250 AATs, 1,500 troop carriers, 50 C-9979 landing craft and 1,500 droid starfighters. (From the starwars.com Databank)

MC40a LIGHT STAR CRUISER
MC40a Light Star Cruiser     This was a Mon Calamari starship design which was a smaller version of the MC80a cruiser. Like all Mon Calamari starships, each MC40a was unique. A smaller series of Mon Calamari starship, the MC40a contains all the Mon Calamari grace and functionality. Most light cruisers measure 500 meters in lengths, but are similarly equipped with redundant systems. Built by the amphibious Mon Calamari of the planet of the same name, these ships are designed specifically for a crew of Mon Calamari officers and technicians, but they can be refitted at some difficulty to accomodate crews of other species. MC80a STAR CRUISER
MC80a Star Cruiser     Built by the Mon Calamari for the original purpose of being a luxury cruiser, the MC80a was transformed into a combat starship when the Mon Calamari saw the need to defend themselves and joined the Rebel Alliance. This was of great fortune to the Rebels, for they now were provided with large, powerful capital starships to serve in their previously pitiful fleet. In return, many Mon Calamari received influential positions in the Rebel Alliance Navy and government.
Each of these ships is a hand-crafted work of art, unique from all others. They appear to be organic in nature; rounded pods and bulges that contain sensor arrays, weapons batteries, and shield generators give these star cruisers a disgustingly organic look, as if the ship is alive.
The MC80a Star Cruiser is well-protected. To protect the MC80 when it was transformed from a luxury vehicle to a battleship, the Mon Calamari covered the numerous viewports with hull components and heavy blast doors, to protect the ship's structural integrity. Further, the cruiser's systems are redundant, making the cruiser difficult to defeat, but expensive to maintain. They were designed with triply-redundant shielding, and most other systems had at least double redundancy.
These ships are 1,200 meters in length, and carry a normal crew of 5,402, with the ability to transport 1,200 troops. It has been rated at 60 MGLT at sublight speeds. The MC80a has the following shipboard components: TriLuna 400 MGS Stardrive and Hyperdrive Motivator, 2 ArMek SW-7 Ion Cannon Batteries, Serridge SEAL Shielding System (rated at 240 SBD), 2 Front-mounted Phylon-Q7 Tractor Beam Projectors, 6 Taim and Bak XV9 Turbolaser Batteries, Plat Dromma Targeting Computer, 6 Fighter Bays (Y-wing Squadrons, 2 X-wing Squadrons, and 1 A-wing Squadron. Some argue that the MC80 carries only three starfighter squadrons, but that is false. (From the TIE Fighter Hangar Bay Technical Database)

MC80b STAR CRUISER
MC80b Star Cruiser     The MC80b Star Cruiser improved further upon the basic MC80 and MC80a designs, adding more powerful shields and heavier hull reinforcement. It was designed as a bridge between the primarily civilian MC80 and MC80a cruisers and the MC90 military cruiser. The MC80b measured 1,200 meters in length, with the same armaments as the MC80a. Four squadrons of starfighters are housed in the ship's docking bays.
The MC80b is distinguished from the MC80a in that it has a "tail"-like protrusion out of its rear. But of course, all Mon Calamari Cruisers of all classes will not look exactly alike. (From the TIE Fighter Hangar Bay Technical Database)

MC90a HEAVY STAR CRUISER
MC90a Heavy Star Cruiser     This was the first truly military starship designed by the Mon Calamari. They were more modular than the MC80-series, designed to be more consistent with other, non-MC-class starships. The ship's displays were given multiple wavelength settings so that other species could read them. The MC90 had an improved drive system, increased shielding, and better maneuverability. The power generators were upgraded, and interior cargo space was expanded for carrying more starfighters. The Defiance was the first MC90 to see action, during the first Battle of Calamari. These 1,255 meter ships were manned by 5,860 crewmen and 605 gunners, and could transport up to 1,700 troops. They were armed with 12 turbolaser batteries, 4 ion cannon batteries, 4 tractor beam projectors, and 6 proton torpedo/missile tubes. (From the TIE Fighter Hangar Bay Technical Database)

MUNIFICENT-CLASS STAR FRIGATE
Munificent-class Star Frigate     Aiding the Banking Clan's rise to financial dominance was a deeply rooted culture of extreme paranoia among its highest board members. Investors felt secure that the Clan took extraordinary measures to protect its assets, including the construction of some of the most advanced war droids and military equipment. So concerned with theft and government interference was the Banking Clan that it built its own communications network separate from the HoloNet.
A relay network of subspace and hyperwave transceivers established secure channels for financial transactions. If an enterprising thief decided to target the physical transceiver itself rather than slice the network, he or she would find an unsettling surprise. The transceivers were carried aboard large Munificent-class star frigates, immense capital ships armed with powerful weaponry.
These frigates were used to spread the Banking Clan's private network and to move solid assets between vaults and clients. When the Clone Wars erupted, Chairman San Hill brought the Banking Clan into the Confederacy fold, and committed a number of star frigates to what he believed was a profitable venture. The communications network maintained by this fleet was used primarily for military and propaganda transmission, not for finances.
A Banking Clan frigate is heavily armed, with an enormous twin prow turbolaser cannon that is slow to maneuver, but deadly to larger warships. The ship also has two long-range ion cannons, 26 turbolaser cannons, 20 light turbolaser turrets and 38 point-defense laser cannons. It can carry a complement of up to 150,000 deactivated battle droids in compressed configuration.

NEBULON-B ESCORT FRIGATE
Nebulon-B Escort Frigate     Manufactured by Kuat Drive Yards -- makers of the mighty Star Destroyers -- the Nebulon-B escort frigate was designed as an affordable capital ship meant to handle the threat of Alliance starfighters. It came as response to repeated Alliance raids on Imperial convoys. Accompanied by escort frigates, the rich prizes of Imperial shipping suddenly became risky ventures to Alliance tacticians. The escort frigate's launch bays can hold two squadrons of starfighters and the ship carries specialized weaponry designed to hit small targets. In response to this new threat, the Rebels developed the heavily-armed B-wing starfighter.

PROVIDENCE-CLASS CARRIER/DESTROYER
Providence-class Carrier/Destroyer     More robust than other Confederate capital ships, the Providence-class Carrier/Destroyer is capable of transporting entire armies of battle droids into battle. The carrier’s role is to transport its troops to planets and cover them as they disembark and travel planetside. This is accomplished through a number of lighter cannons as well as over 100 proton torpedo tubes. Smaller and featuring less armaments than the Recusant, the Providence is still a formidable warship.

RECUSANT-CLASS LIGHT DESTROYER
Recusant-class Light Destroyer     The treaty that created the Confederacy of Independent Systems strengthened the working relationships of the main industrial titans in the Separatist movement. Using the materiel resources of the Commerce Guild, the Techno Union began mass-producing capital ships for use on the frontlines. Though the ship would bear the name of a Commerce Guild support ship, it is more aptly called a Confederacy vessel.
The Recusant-class destroyer was typical of the Separatist starship development program. Relatively inexpensive to construct, the support destroyers are often unleashed in groups, harrowing individual Republic Star Destroyers in teams of four to six. It is heavily armed for its size. It features a bottom-mounted heavy turbolaser at its prow, four heavy turbolaser cannons, six heavy turbolaser turrets, five turbolaser cannons, 30 dual laser cannons, 12 dual light laser cannons and 60 point-defense lasers.
The hull of the ship seems largely skeletal -- the thin areas of superstructure only support a small habitable volume given that the ship's crew mostly consists of battle droids. The ship can carry up to 40,000 deactivated battle droids in space-optimizing stowed format. (From the starwars/com Databank)
